Here was a sextet founded in 2000, made up of Camp Pipes and Jamie Hooper on vocals, Sunny Dhak on lead guitar, Bobby Froese on rhythm guitar, Rich Trawick on bass guitar, and Geoff Trawick on drums. Their style powered through all other convention hard rock outfits to earn them a contract with Roadrunner Records. To make it short: they hit the big time!

Unsurprisingly, they earned the Roadrunner label simply due to the 5-song EP they released, actually selling out! They then released their first full-length album entitled Battlecry Under a Winter Sun, and the rest was history. Roadrunner Records then took the helm and had the sophomore album in 2004 entitled Advance and Vanquish released to hail this '80s metallic monster of Three Inches of Blood utterly destroy with honor and passion the arena of hard rock. The band went on to release 2007's Fire Up the Blades and 2009's Here Waits Thy Doom.

Think Iron Maiden meets Dungeons & Dragons. That was the Inches of Blood outfit to a tee. You can understand that '80s throwback style easily there, because of that -- as that fantasy metal style was so deeply prevalent in the role-playing game industry. Their riffs galloped hard, and solos flew with the style of thrash metal, and they did it well.
