Until 2011, not many people knew the name of Alessandro Lindblad, more widely known by the stage name DJ Alesso. But that changed the following year, when pop superstar Madonna not only toured with him, but declared him 'the next big thing.' The young Swede has been riding high ever since, with no indication that he's about to slow down.

Specializing in progressive house, a type of electronic dance music, Alesso gained worldwide popularity from support of original productions and remixes from names like Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and Kaskade. His remix of "Pressure" became one of the most played EDM songs of 2011, and he made his debut on DJ Mag's Top 100 list, checking in at No. 70 on the roll call of some of the hottest young talent in the world.

By 2012, Alesso had performed at some of the biggest music festivals around – Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland, just to name a few. He continued to gain momentum with various awards and recognitions, with critics and fans alike describing his music as 'colorful, with aural-pleasing vibes.' He gives all the credit to Swedish House Mafia's Sebastian Ingrosso, who took Alesso under his wing. Just five months after their first meeting, they were DJing together around the world and made one of 2011's biggest hits, "Calling."

Alesso's rise to stardom has also been fueled by the way America has embraced electronic dance music, allowing it to move from underground raves to mainstream radio. With endless gigs in the US, Europe and other international destinations, the now Swedish sensation is constantly on the go. Look for him from Las Vegas to London in 2013.
