American Airlines Arena is the home of the NBA Champion Miami Heat. The Heat, who play in the NBA's Southeastern conference, posted a 46-20 record on their way to the 2012 NBA Finals victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the summer of 2010, LeBron James, arguably the most coveted free agent in NBA history, hosted a live show on ESPN called, 'The Decision'. Broadcasted from The Boys and Girls Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, LeBron announced that he would be taking his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat. He would join fellow all stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to form one of the best trios in the NBA. After falling to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, the Heat would defeat the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, and Oklahoma City on their way to winning the NBA title. Their overall playoff record was 16-7.The American Airlines Arena, sometimes called AAA or Triple A for short, opened on the last day in 1999 and seats 19,600 fans at capacity. Outside of hosting the home games for the Heat, the arena has also been used for multiple professional wrestling events as well as notable concerts. Britney Spears, Kanye West, Phish, and Celine Dion have all performed at the American Airlines Arena.
