Amadeus News: Regular Season and Preseason Updates
Written by Peter Shaffer, the intense drama about the highly fictional rivalry between classical composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozard and Antonio Salieri was a play before it was a motion picture. The stage play, which was written in the late 70's, heavily features the music of Mozart as well as other composers of the period, including Salieri. Set during the premieres of Mozart's operas The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro, the play, first directed by Sir Peter Hall, premiered at the Royal National Theatre in London in 1979. The play has since then received various revivals, including a Broadway run in 1980 and a presentations of the latest revisions in 2006 by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As this suspenseful rivalry comes to life on stage, fans seek Amadeus tickets available at Seatgeek.com.
