The DJ world knows him as Baauer (Created June 13, 2013)

His birth certificate may list him as Harry Bauer Rodrigues, but the DJ world knows him simply as Baauer. And the world? The world knows him for "The Harlem Shake," a 2012 song that ultimately swept the globe as an Internet meme.

Yes, it's true. Baauer has more than made a name for himself in the ever-growing, ever-evolving EDM community. So much so that this young, Brooklyn-based producer has already had his tracks spun by the likes of Diplo, Flosstradamus, and Rustie. And that's just a small part of his story.

Baauer, it turns out, was actually born and raised in West Philadelphia. But he also lived in Germany, London and Westport, Connecticut, soaking in the sights and sounds of clubs around the world. He ultimately signed with the LuckyMe label in August of 2012, then made his debut with the three-track "DumDum," which permanently cemented his arrival on the EDM scene.

Ranked in the U.S. top 200 by the DJ List, Baauer is said to have developed the skills and of a veteran, thanks to tours with names like Araabmuzik, Dillon Francis, and Kill the Noise. In addition to appearances at Fun Fun Fun Festival and Day of the Dead 2012, Baauer also traveled to Europe to headline several shows in the fall of 2012.

Baauer recently collaborated with hip hop producer Just Blaze on the track "Higher," before both men toured together throughout January and February 2013. In March he was named one of Fuse TV's must-see artists at SXSW, and in May won Dance Song of the Year and EDM Song of the Year at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.
Baauer is working on an EP which will be released sometime in 2013.
