Today marks the stream of the new Daft Punk album, "Random Access Memories," on iTunes. But, the internet being the wily and unpredictable beast that it is, you can take a listen to the whole thing right here: http://www.reddit.com/r/DaftPunk. (As if the country didn't need another reason to love Reddit.) Here's the full tracklist below: Read more

A good hip-hop album is like a beautifully crafted novel - it tells a story. There's a build-up, a come-down, a journey, a struggle, victories and failures. A good hip-hop album leaves you feeling inspired, tired, and understanding the weight of the world in a new way. Though many of these albums can out in the early '90s, all are still relevant in 2013. So without any more pontificating is a list of some great hip-hop albums…

Dutch uber-mega DJ Armin van Buuren recently announced another marathon world tour, though this one, aptly named Intense (either after his album of the same name, or because that's what it will be, or both..), will not begin until November at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome. But when it begins, you better believe it'll be going off - with a "seven hour spectacle" featuring live entertainers, as well as the DJ himself spinning the tables…

Bronx native Pusha T (which, fun fact, stands for Pusha Ton) will be joining BK native Fabolous for their "Life is So Exciting Tour" (presented by MTV Jams). The tour kicks off on April 24th in Providence, RI, goes to SUNY New Paltz (hometown shout out!) on May 4th and then continues across the United States. The rap duo will hit New York, Boston and LA before ending in Canada...where all tours go to die. (Kidding! Got mad love…

King Kendrick continues to kill it. After touring Europe, stopping off in New York and playing at the Roseland Ballroom (I went! NBD..), Kendrick will continue to travel, playing shows at colleges across the U.S. until early June, when he'll make a triumph return to NY - headlining the Governor's Ball. After that, he hits L.A. on June 29th for the BET Experience, which Beyoncé is kicking off. Holla.

Making top ten lists is like going on a first date and having someone ask you what your favorite song is. Impossible to say. How can you rank rappers? What qualifications could one possibly use? So, rather than act like I have any authority, I give you, in no order whatsoever, a list of the top ten rappers of all time:
Arguably Brooklyn's greatest rapper, Biggie spit flows like none other. Though he's been dead for over a decade,…

The decades old rock quartet Red Hot Chili Peppers recently announced that they'll be playing a few festivals across the U.S., in addition to the two weekends of Coachella. If you prefer a more intimate setting than a sunbaked field filled with thousands of people (oh wait, anything is more intimate than that), check them out the week before The Fonda Theater in L.A. After they'll head to Detroit for the Orion Music Festival,…

Country music has been being played for nearly a century and it coalesced as a genre in Atlanta in the 1920s, as Appalachian natives migrated to the city - bringing their unique form of music with them. Since then, it has evolved in a multitude of directions, re-incarnating as honky tonk, bluegrass, western music, christian folk and today's pop country. Here, for your edification, is a list of some classic country music artists,…

Riding that nostalgia wave high until it crests (hasn't yet!), '80s icons Cheap Trick have announced even more 2013 tour dates, bringing along fellow legend Pat Benatar and her husband, Neil Giraldo, for the ride down memory lane. No venues have been announced yet, but we do know the pair of acts will hit the road on June 7 with a performance in Lincoln, CA, and, from there, will visit several western states (Nevada and Arizona,…

Something about country music's powerful themes of heartbreak, hay bails, whiskey and women really lend this genre to the music video form. If a picture says a thousands words, then how many song lyrics can a three minute video convey? A lot.
Take Carrie Underwood's riveting video, "Before He Cheats," featuring an empowering Carrie and impeccable use of wind machines. Legal Disclaimer: However fierce Carrie looks with a baseball…

LL Cool J (fun fact: that's short for Ladies Love Cool James) continues his two-decade long career of smooth crooning, as he and crew set off on a "Kings of the Mic Tour." There was a mini-preview of what's to come last week, during SXSW, at the Doritos stage in Austin (I was averse to this venue on general principle.), when Cool J performed with an all-star line-up of Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Doug E. Fresh, and DJ Z-Trip. Dough…

Electro-pop's ginger darling, Elly Jackson, and her cohort, Ben Langmaid who together compose La Roux, will tour the UK briefly before heading out to Cali for the hot, bright, sweaty, two-weekend monstrosity of music and art festival that is COACHELLA. Before Coachella, the group will play few warm-up shows in Brighton, Bristol and Coventry (all across the pond).

Country music is well represented at the Grammys, and highlights this year included Carrie Underwood's win for Best Country Solo Performance for her song Blown Away, which also won Best Country Song. Best Country Album went to Zac Brown Band for Uncaged, but apparently these categories aren't enough, and the country music scene needs its own special awards ceremony.

T-Swift, everyone's favorite blonde with many boyfriends, is now rumored to be dating Ed Sheeran. Though he's not a country singer, he has been opening for her during her RED Tour. Doesn't she know, dating co-workers is one rule you shouldn't break. Though, until she writes a song about him, it's all just speculation.
Toby Keith continues to be one of the most ridiculously played country artists. He was given several BMI Million-Air…
