Amanda Palmer Tour
Revolutionary chanteuse Amanda Palmer is striking out this fall, making her way through a series of international dates in Germany, Poland, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, and Hungary. Support for these dates includes (depending on the city and country of the show) Die Roten Punkte, the MurderChords, Jherek Bischoff, and Gabriela Kulka. When Palmer comes back stateside, she’s teaming with her husband, author Neil Gaiman (he wrote Coraline, he’s pretty cool), for a private show at Town Hall in New York City on November 23. “An Evening with Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer”, as its dubbed, will be, according to Palmer, “an intimate night of spoken word, songs, stories, chats with the audience, and more than a few surprises.” Sign us up. Tickets for this special show go on sale August 23 at 12:00 noon.
Amanda Palmer rose to prominence for her place as the lead singer, pianist, and primary composer and songwriter of the duo The Dresden Dolls. She’s had a successful solo career since leaving the Dolls, and she’s part of the collaborations Evelyn Evelyn and Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra.
