American Idol, the original of today's numerous singing competitions, has announced the 2012 version of the annual tour that follows the show every year. Hitting dozens of cities across the United States from July through September, the tour will feature the vocal talents of the 12 remaining finalists - Colton Dixon, DeAndre Brackensick, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Heejun Han, Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, and Skylar Laine.
The tour will hit 45 cities in total and is a cash cow for the show's producer, 19 Entertainment, which has secured sponsorships from Chips Ahoy! and Ritz.
