Black Sabbath News
North American Tour
After teasing us with a new album, Australian tour dates, and a behind-the-scenes look of them in the studio, Black Sabbath has finally announced a full North American tour. Kicking off on July 25 in Houston at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion, the tour spans the tail end of July through the beginning of September, when the band will perform in CA at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on the 3rd. Tickets for the tour go on sale on the primary market on May 4. Check below for secondary tickets, and tour dates.
Black Sabbath In the Studio
Here’s a little Valentine’s Day treat, for all those diehard fans for whom Black Sabbath ranks among the objects of affection in their lives. Take a look at the band working on and recording their new album, 13, in this behind-the-scenes clip, below.

New Black Sabbath Album "13"
Black Sabbath are releasing NEW music in 2013! With an Australian tour already booked, the band announced that the first album featuring Ozzy Osbourne on lead vocals will be released in June. Entitled 13, the album will be the band’s ninth with their original singer (Osbourne) and 19th album overall. That is quite the catalog of albums right there.
The album is sure to be a good one, especially with Rick Rubin having produced and drummer Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine on all tracks, replacing drummer Bill Ward who had dropped out after contract negotiations hit a roadblock. Now, as for the Aussie tour dates, check out the links below for all the shows and keep it locked here at SeatGeek as any new tour dates across the globe are announced for Black Sabbath.
Opening Acts for Australian Tour Announced
Still no word on US/European tour dates, but Black Sabbath continue to build anticipation for their Australian trek. They’ve just added an opening act: New Zealanders Shihad will join Ozzy and his goth ensemble out on the Outback road for their spring tour.
Nothing like celebrating your 25th anniversary with iconic rock gods. Check out Shihad performing "Home Again" below.

Guitarist Tony Lommi Speaks Out
After battling cancer in 2012, Black Sabbath’s guitar man, Tony Iommi, indicated that the hard rock legends would tour as much as possible in 2013. In a scoop brought to you by NME, Iommi wrote on his personal website a thank you to his fans stating the following:
“What a year! Certainly not the one I was expecting. Thanks to you all for your massive help and support, it was very encouraging. I’m still working on the album and managed to play three shows, not bad given the news a year ago. I’m looking forward to next year, seeing what you think of the record and touring as much as we’re able.”
The band is also in the studio working on their new album, which is set to be released in April. With six of the forecasted fifteen tracks complete, we’ll see if that timing holds true. In the mean time, check out the scoop below on the Australian tour dates for Black Sabbath in 2013.
New Album Release Date Announced
Although their new album’s still missing a name, at least Black Sabbath have settled on an approximate birthdate: April 2013. Unsurprisingly, the spring release coincides with the band’s recently announced Australian tour. We’ve got details on those dates Down Under below, and be sure to check back here when more are released!
Black Sabbath Back in the Studio
It’s been 34 years since three of the four original members of Black Sabbath – guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and singer/former-reality-show-superstar Ozzy Osbourne – recorded an album together. Now, the group that helped bring heavy-metal to the headbanger masses are back in the studio, working on a twelve-track record with producer Rick Rubin. To celebrate the untitled effort’s 2013 release, Ozzy and his band of merry Satanists will hit the Outback for a brief tour next spring.
So far, the group has only released one songtitle from their latest collection: “God is Dead.” No word yet on whether the record as a whole will carry a similarly fitting, if slightly demoralizing, name, although Osbourne did drop a hint while interviewing with NME:”Next year, 2013, is a good clue to what we’re going to call the album.” Feel free to leave your conjectures in the comments section below, and keep scrolling for more info on Black Sabbath’s upcoming tour – which, incidentally, will stop in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, before possibly (probably!) moving on to other global sites.
