2011 was an whirlwind year for Justin Vernon. Not only did Bon Iver released a self-titled followup to For Emma, Forever Ago, Justin Vernon found himself collaborating with Kanye West. Vernon found himself on stage at Coachella in 2011 with Yeezy, providing the sample found in "Lost in the Woods" and for "Monster."
Bon Iver's self-titled debut was adored by the indie faithful and highly anticipated and did not disappoint. The critics adored the album, Metacritic aggregated scores to be an 86, which indicated "universal acclaim" and both Pitchfork and Paste dubbed Bon Iver as their Best Album of 2011. For all of Vernon and crew's trouble, "Holocene" is Grammy nominated for Song of the Year and Bon Iver is Grammy nominated for Album of the Year.
Fresh off their recent Grammy wins for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album, Bon Iver has added some additional dates to their 2012 summer lineup. The indie folk four-piece is plotting out what looks to be a very busy summer, with stops planned in New Zealand, Australia, the U.S. and Canada. Bon Iver will also be playing Coachella 2012 alongside Radiohead, The Shins, David Guetta and Childish Gambino so make sure to catch them on April 14 and 21 this summer.
UPDATE: Bon Iver has added new 2012 UK tour dates.
