Alternative rockers, Bosnian Rainbows, have just announced their 2013 North American tour dates. El Paso- Texanite Omar Rodríguez-López, of the "Omar Rodríguez-López" Group, dropped the egotistical band name to form the Bosnian Rainbows this year. The tour is set to start mid-February in Atlanta, GA, and they will play their way through all major US cities and Canada, stopping at NYC’s Highline Ballroom on Feb 19th, and ending at Foro Sol in Mexico City.

The band consists of The Mars Volta members, Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, backing vocals) and Deantoni Parks (drums, keyboards), alongside Le Butcherettes vocalist Teri Gender Bender and Nicci Kasper (keyboards). The Mars Volta + Le Butcherettes pretty much equals the best rock quartet to grace a live stage. Following the completion of a 19-show European/ Israel tour in March of 2012, Rodriguez-Lopez put The Mars Volta on hiatus, moved back to El Paso, TX, and formed the Bosnian Rainbows. They toured in September 2012, under the banner The Omar Rodríguez-López Group, which was originally meant to be a solo tour, but morphed into a debut of the new band, in which the crew ended up rehearsing and recording their whole album at Cloud Hill Studios in Hamburg, Germany. They also recorded a 33-minute live session which was recently released on 10” vinyl and DVD as a part of the Live at Cloud Hills box set. Their debut LP will be released in early 2013. Yee haw!
