Broken Bells - the experimental band put together by The Shins leading man James Mercer, and Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton - will head out on a 10-date tour in early '14 to support their new album After the Disco. The tour will begin February 28 in Minneapolis at First Avenue, and includes stops in Chicago, Boston, New York, and DC, before concluding March 12 in New Orleans at The Civic Theatre. The pair will also have a stopover in Canada when they perform at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on March 3.
Mercer is coming off a year that saw him touring with The Shins in the spring, and Burton's 2013 was highlighted by Grammy Awards associated with his production of The Black Keys' album El Camino (Best Rock Album) and its single, "Lonely Boy" (Best Rock Song). After the Disco will mark the group's second full album release, following the self-titled 2010 Gold record which was nominated for a Grammy, and third overall if you account for the 2011 EP Meyrin Fields.
