Seems like unmistakably cool French rock band Phoenix is sick of sharing the spotlight. After a host of festival dates this year, Phoenix has just announced plans for a United States solo fall tour. Though there are only 14 dates (so far, at least - they'll probably add more), the band will make it through Chicago, IL (this show is a headlining gig at Lollapalooza); Omaha, NE; Morrison, CO, Brooklyn, NY; Los Angeles, CA; and Kansas City, MO; with a final show in San Diego, CA, in October.
Phoenix are bringing their tight pants, dark sunglasses, and mussed hairdos on tour to promote Bankrupt!, their fifth studio album, released on April 19. Prior to Bankrupt!, the band's last album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, was released in 2009, so we're sure these boys (and the fans, let's be real here) are glad to have them back on the road. Opening acts for the Parisian band for this tour will include Dinosaur, Jr., The Vaccines, and Icky Blossoms.
