Who says you can't teach success? Everything Everything, a band comprised of Popular Music scholars (yes, that is its own discipline) from The University of Salford, will embark on a tour of their UK homeland next fall. The popular pop performers have made plans to stop in on their fans in Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Birmingham, Norwich, Nottingham, Sheffield, and London throughout the month of October. So far, only fall (and only English) dates have been announced.
Further proving they got their money's worth at uni, bassist Jeremy Prichard has described the band's sound as "highly stylized and deracinated" (deracinate = "to tear [something] up by the roots," FYI). Or, to put it in layman terms, the erudite ensemble is influenced by everyone from Nirvana to Radiohead,The Beatles to Destiny's Child to R. Kelly. "I guess you'd say [our sound] is kind of unpredictable and surprising," says singer Jonathan Higgs. Decisively.
