English folk-punk singer, Frank Turner, has announced he will tour Ireland this December. The tour de Ireland will be a small one, with just four acoustic shows spanning only four days. The first stop is in Cork on December 6, and the following day he will be in Galway. On the 8th, the tour heads to Dublin with a show at Whelan's, and the finale will be at Limelight in Belfast on the 9th.
You may recognize Turner from his surprise appearance at the London Olympics opening ceremony earlier this summer. Or perhaps you know him from his work as the vocalist in the "post-hardcore" band, Million Dead. Since the split of his former band in 2005, Turner has embarked on a solo career, performing mostly acoustically and in smaller club settings. As a solo artist, Turner has released four full-length recordings, and has a yet-to-be-titled album slated for release sometime in 2013. Turner has also just announced a new hardcore side project titled "Mongol Horde." If you're lucky enough to live in Ireland, be sure to check him out this winter.
