Rapper-with-a-social-conscience Hopsin will continue to charge the youth of the nation as he heads into the second leg of his Funk Volume Tour. With support from Dizzy Wright, SwizZz and Jarren Benton, the latter half of the emcee's concert series will see him visiting venues throughout the Midwest and Western regions of the country.
Named by XXL magazine as one of their "Top 10 Freshmen," the nascent artist isn't afraid of challenging more established upperclassmen. Hopsin's viral hit, "Sag My Pants," takes aim at Drake, Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Rick Ross, and Lupe Fiasco, while "Ill Mind of Hopsin 5" is a searing – both hot and caustic – indictment of rap as a lifestyle: "Man I hate rap, but if the shoe fits, wear it... I'm embarrassed/And I'm ashamed I played a part in this devilish game." Lazy, shiftless, weed-smoking and beer-pong bro-ing kids are also at the bottom of this progressive's list (to put it inoffensively), so make sure to pull up your pants and leave the bong at home if you plan on attending any of Hopsin's final shows:
