The holiday season comes early for Hot Tuna fans! The blues-rockers have just announced 11 new dates for their “Holidays Tour”! The tour, made up of mostly acoustic shows, kicks off on November 9 in Pomeroy, OH, with stops in New York City, Fall River, CT; Syracuse, NY; PA; Kent, OH, and two final shows in Chicago, IL. The band, made up of former Jefferson Airplane members Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen as well as Barry Mitterhoff and Skoota Warner, will play two plugged-in, electric sets over the tour in Pomeroy and in New York City. Visit the band’s website for ticketing information and celebrate the “holidays” early!
Hot Tuna has released seven studio albums since their inception (the most recent, Steady As She Goes, arrived in 2011), but it’s their live albums that garner the most reaction. The band loves live music so much that they actually encouraged the audience to tape or record their live shows. Unfortunately, they changed their tune in July 2006 and halted this practice.
