Although their well-known frontman is off at another label (and trying to take his name with him), the 2012 J. Geils Band tour dates have been announced for the Houseparty they're throwing throughout the northeast. Thirty years since hitting it big with their #1 hit "Centerfold," the band continues touring and drawing multiple generations of fans. They have survived a transition from blues rock to their more famous pop sound and multiple break-ups over the years, to bring the '80s back for a night in towns all over the US. Fans are anxious to see what they sound like without their regular lead singer.

It is still unknown how the recent defection of John Geils himself to a new record label and subsequent dispute over the band's name could affect promotion during the tour.
