Young pop sensation Lorde has announced her first set of 2014 US tour dates, all taking place in March. The Lorde tour will begin March 3 at Austin Music Hall in Austin, TX, and the concerts will wrap up at Oakland's Fox Theater on March 26. In between those two endpoints, this leg of Lorde US tour dates will hit the east coast, highlighted by a two-night stay at the historic Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Lorde's fast-developing legions of fans shouldn't be disheartened if they don't see their city on this first list. Plans are already in place to schedule more concert & festival appearances across the US later in the year, and we'll be sure to keep you updated as more details are made available.
If you're one of the few people who has managed to dodge one of the more popular and critically-acclaimed singles of the year, Lorde's hit "Royals" made for quite the debut on the music scene. While the New Zealand native - who's real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor - has been signed to a record deal & honing her songwriting for years, "Royals" & her debut album Pure Heroine have made a quick & thorough impact in pop music. She has aimed to give young music fans a different kind of image & message, suffered the wrath of fans of other stars (Taylor Swift & One Direction, for example) for perceived attacks on their favorite artists, and been a lightning rod for an intense mix of both acclaim and disdain. Regardless of those who aim to keep Lorde from the highest levels of the pop stratosphere, it's clear that she has the ability and the determination to do anything she wants. It won't take long for her to cross one thing off her list: "sell out stages across America in March."
