Meshuggah, the Swedish metal band who've been around for as long as I have (literally – they formed in '87, the same year I was born), have announced dates for a 2013 European tour. Slated for the month of April and beginning of May, the tour sees the rockers in Warsaw, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm, among other cities. This announcement comes on the heels of the band's most recent tour de Europe, which just recently came to a close. Meshuggah guitarist Marten Hagstrom said, "This tour has been awesome and we'd like to thank everyone for coming to the shows... So naturally, we're stoked to announce that we are coming back in April/May to continue the trek in the eastern parts of Europe, along with the previously announced Scandinavian dates."
The fun starts back up again on April 18, with a performance in Finland at Rytmikorjaamo, and comes to a close on May 10, when they play a show in Sweden at Idun. Expect to hear tunes from the band's latest album, Koloss, their seventh studio release. It came out earlier this year to critical acclaim, earning 9/10 from SPIN, who stated that it was "the first real contender for the genre's album of the year."
