Mount Eerie, the band fronted by musical mastermind Phil Elverum, has announced a 2013 tour of Australia. The four-date stint kicks off on January 23, at The Bakery in Perth. After that it's off to Brisbane, where the indie-rocker will play a show at The Waiting Room on the 24th. The following day marks a performance at Sydney's York St. Anglican Church, followed by the tour closing show on the 26th at The Toff in Melbourne. No word yet on a supporting act for the shows.
Elverum, who hails from Anacortes, WA, has been making music under the pseudonym Mount Eerie since 2003, but you may remember him from his last moniker, The Microphones. Regardless of what name you want to call him, the man has released a slew of EPs, LPs and singles over the last 10 years, and has been keeping especially busy in 2012. In May of this year he released his fifth studio album, Clear Moon, which earned eight out of 10 stars in SPIN magazine, and in September he released his sixth studio album, Ocean Roar, which also received favorable reviews. Come check out what this musical maven has to offer when he tours Aussie next year.
