Vetted party-starter Derek Vincent Smith, aka Pretty Lights, is slated to headline his own New Year's party in New York City this year. The mastermind of electro-bliss wonder tracks like "Finally Moving" and "I Know The Truth" will hit Roseland Ballroom in midtown Manhattan for the final two days of 2012, culminating in what's sure to be a grand-scale New Year's Eve show.

New York City alone promises a bevy of world-class talent for New Year's Eve. As always, jam-band mavens Phish will deck the halls of Madison Square Garden with feel-good blues for yet another Phish New Year's run; Jay-Z and Coldplay will co-headline Barclays Center (where else?); Nas and diva-in-the-making Elle Varner will play across town at Radio City Music Hall; and techno kingpin Armin Van Buuren will make decisions difficult for fans of Pretty Lights, or anyone else looking to get their rave on to ring in 2013.
