Spending New Year’s Eve in the New York City area? Your options for entertainment abound: The newest addition to this list is taking place just outside the city (in Connecticut, hope that doesn’t deter you all) at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Guess who’s playing? Prince (or the Artist Formerly Known As Prince, or whatever we’re calling him these days)! The Purple Yoda is planning to ring in 2014 with three dates at the Connecticut casino, taking place December 27, 28, and 29. Prince last played in the NYC area with New Power Generation at City Winery in August, so he’s really feeling love for the Big Apple as of late. Wanna' spend the end of the year with this fierce singer? Tickets for all three shows go on sale December 6 at 10am local time.
Prince Rogers Nelson (yes, that is indeed his given name) has produced ten platinum albums and thirty Top 40 singles over his nearly four-decade career. Besides writing several hundred songs for his own music as well as other artists, The Purple One has won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award (all he needs is a Tony for the much-coveted EGOT).
