News Updates

A few more megawatt names have been added to this year's lineup, joining the likes of it-boys Mumford & Sons, the recently reunited Postal Service, and everyone's favorite ethereal ensemble, Sigur Ros. Elvis Costello & the Imposters, as well as Devendra Banhart, will also perform at the Sasquatch Music Festival this May.

Sasquatch!, the Western music festival giving Coachella a run for its considerable money, has announced its 2013 lineup. Many people predicted that Mumford & Sons, Sigur Ros, Artic Monkeys, and Cake would be included in the lineup. But, no one could have expected Sasquatch to put together such a steller lineup for 2013's festival. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes, The Postal Service, Vampire Weekend, and The xx are just a few other bands that will be performing in May. In addition, this year's breakout artists, Macklemore and Imagine Dragons, will also be headlining. The Sasquatch! Music Festival will be bringing the rock, funk, blues, soul and other genres of tunes to the Pacific Northwest again in 2013. In a release today, festival organizers revealed that the festival will take place from May 24 to May 27 next year at the Gorge Amphitheatre near George, WA.

The 2012 festival, which sold out, featured performances by Jack White, Alabama Shakes, The Civil Wars, Tenacious D, Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, The Civil Wars, Metric, Purity Ring, The Roots, Beats Antique, James Murphy, M. Ward, Bon Iver and Beck. The lineup for 013 has yet to be announced, but you can expect big names and a variety of acts added to the bill soon. A presale of a limited number of 4 day passes go on sale November 23 and lasts through the end of the year.

The Sasquatch! Music Festival first began in 2002 and this year's festivals mark its 12th year running. The festival is known for its diverse and often, lesser known artists. For example, the Sasquatch 2012 lineup consisted of The Roots, Explosions in the Sky, Santigold, Beats Antique, and AraabMuzik, among many other musicians.

Sasquatch! is a four day music festival that takes place over Memorial Day Weekend. The festival attracts close to 100,000 attendees each year to the Columbia River side venue, located in George, Washington. Sasquatch! has consistently featured some of the hottest artists such as Passion Pit, Kid Cudi, The Foo Fighters, and The Shins. However, one of the biggest draws is its scenic view overlooking the Columbia River and rolling hillsides.

Sasquatch! 2013 Lineup Predictions

We can only speculate what the 2013 Lineup might look like. Over the past three years, Sasquatch has featured some of the music industry's biggest names, such as Beck, Bon Iver, The Foo Fighters, Flying Lotus, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Wilco, The Flaming Lips, The Decemberists, Bassnectar, MGMT, Band of Horses, Passion Pit, Kid Cudi, My Morning Jacket, and OK Go. Although it's unlikely that any of these artists will make a repeat performance in 2013, the caliber of past performers has the SeatGeek Team dreaming big; no artist is off limits for Sasquatch 2013 - including the dead (Tupac Hologram). Eminem has been making the music festival rounds over the last three years - performing with Dr. Dre at Coachella 2012, guest appearing with 50 Cent at SXSW 2012, and headlining at Lollapalooza 2011 and Bonnaroo 2011. Another potential performer could very well be Grammy singer Lady Gaga, who has not announced her US Tour Dates amid speculation over the last six months.

In addition, there are several artists with scheduled album release dates in 2013 that may use the Sasquatch! Music Festival to launch their album headlining tours. 50 Cent ("Five"), Wiz Khalifa (" O.N.I.F.C."), and Kid Cudi ("Indicud") are all expected to release albums by 2013. U2, Grizzly Bear (a past performer at Sasquatch!), and Bloc Party have also scheduled their album debuts for the next year, and would be well suited for Sasquatch's 2013 lineup.

Here are some other artists with upcoming album releases that may make the 2013 Sasquatch! Lineup.

Secondary market ticket prices have fluctuated from year to year in the $300 to $350 range. 2012 Sasquatch tickets sold for an average of $321, only $6 above the face value price of $315. Looking at the chart below, you can see the obvious trend that ticket prices drop as the event draws closer. Even though tickets sold out for the last two festivals, tickets on the secondary market became a lot more affordable for those most patient, and even sold well below face value. There is nearly a $200 price difference between tickets purchased in February opposed to May.

Although Sasquatch 2012 is official sold out, tickets are readily available for the four day festival here at SeatGeek. Just like Coachella, Sasquatch has opted for only one, all-inclusive option for ticketing but prices are selling at around face value. The time to save seems to have passed as volume as well as price increased right as Coachella kicked off the summer music festival season.
