Slightly Stoopid New Year's Eve Run
West Coast funky fusion band Slightly Stoopid has announced a four-night holiday tour leading up to New Year's Eve. Although the band hails from the San Diego area, the 2013 Slightly Stoopid Holiday Tour will be on the East Coast, with shows in New York, New Jersey and the Washington D.C. area. It's been almost 20 years since the then high school band was signed to a record label by Sublime, and they've built a fan base around their unique blend of music and collaborations with the likes of The Roots, Snoop Dogg and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. You know these guys like to party, so a New Year's Eve concert seems like the perfect occasion to spend some Christmas cash on a Slightly Stoopid ticket.
Their latest album release actually stems from the previously mentioned collaboration with Bob Weir: the Dead alumnus invited the band to his studio to capture their live sound via both a webcast and a new record. Seeing a Slightly Stoopid tour has become a summer mainstay for certain kinds of fans, notably those attracted to tour names like Legalize It with Cypress Hill, or Blazed & Confused with Snoop Dogg. While the bands discography traces all the way back to 1996, you can hear some of their most recent work on 2012's Top of the World - an album which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
