Steve Vai has announced a string of UK tour dates which will take place this December. The tour is in support of his new album titled The Story of Light, which will be released in the United Kingdom on September 11. The week-long tour kicks off on December 1 in Portsmouth, and will then head to London, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, and Ipswitch. It wraps up on the 7th in Manchester at the O2 Apollo. Joining Vai on the road will be the band featured on his latest album.
Vai's career began in 1979 when he was hired by the legendary Frank Zappa to work for him as a music transcriptionist. He toured with Zappa for two years, and in 1983 began his solo career. He has since won three Grammy Awards, toured with the likes of Whitesnake and David Lee Roth, and in 1999 began his own record label. The Story of Light is Vai's 16th solo album.
