Ted Leo of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists fame has announced plans to join indie darling Aimee Mann for a series of North American tour dates this fall. The pair of alt-rockers who share a quirky sense of humor to match their indie pedigrees – she cameoed as a German nihilist who loses an emerald pinky toe in The Big Lebowski, he made this music video – will perform 18 shows from the end of October to mid-November.
While Mann has been around for some time, performing as both a solo musician and bandmate since the early '80s, Leo debuted almost a decade after the songstress formed her first group, Til' Tuesday, in 1983. Like his tourmate, Leo has shuttled in and out of different collaborations, performing with Puzzleheads, Animal Crackers, Citizens Arrest, Hell No, and the ensemble he's best known for, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. For her part, Mann may be best known for her Magnolia album, the soundtrack to the seminal '90s film that spawned the hit, "Save Me." We've got that moody throwback (no one does angst quite like a Gen Xchanteuse), as well as ticket links to see Ted Leo and Aimee Mann out on tour:
