In anticipation for the 8/6 show at Webster Hall — which I will be attending — I'm taking a quick look at The Might Might Bosstones and their continued touring success over a decade removed from there commercial peak during the golden era of Ska.
I am on a little bit of a Ska kick of late, having recently both attended, and written about, my first live Ska concert which featured Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger (of THPS nostalgic fame). Skanking and pitting my way through that event was some of the most fun I have had at a live concert and I expect The Bosstones to be equally entertaining. The impression that I get, is that even though the overall market for ska music has reduced, the core fan-group is still embracing and paying to enjoy this genre's music which is great to see. In-line with that reasoning you can see The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on our lists of exciting upcoming concerts in NYC and Chicago, although they won't be on the lineup of any major music festivals, which is a little bit of a let down.

We had previously talked about The Bosstones w/r/t their inclusion on our list of the most popular live artists, but this is the first time writing about them specifically. Despite, their waning popularity, which is in-line with the overall decline in Ska interest, true fans are still doling out money to see them live, which is great to see.
