Hold on to your fedoras, we have yet another indie-rock band coming out of Brooklyn. This time around it's Yellow Ostrich, a three-piece band who have been touring throughout the year in support of their new album, Strange Land. The latest tour announcement sees them in cities such as D.C., Athens, Houston, and Memphis. The tour kicks off on October 26 at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadlephia, and wraps up on November 14 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. Sharon Van Etten will join them for a few of the shows.
Yellow Ostrich got their start in 2009, but at the time was just vocalist/guitarist Alex Schaaf's solo project. After recruiting drummer Michael Tapper and bassist Jon Natchez, the trio recorded their self-titled debut album. Since that time, they've released three full-length LPs and five EPs under Barsuk Records. They've also opened for artists such as Of Monsters and Men and Los Campensinos. Catch them on the road this fall to experience their eclectic indie-pop sound.
