On August 8, "hot time, summer in the city" will take on a new meaning as two of the most powerful European soccer franchises face off for a friendly match at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Real Madrid (featuring the talents of Cristiano Ronaldo) and AC Milan will square off under the lights of The House That The Boss Built.
Both franchises are coming off of successful seasons, as Real Madrid won the title of La Liga while AC Milan finished a close second to Juventus in Serie A competition.
The summer will be busy for the World Football Challenge, which is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and Creative Artists Agency to bring high level European soccer to North American soil for friendly match play. The challenge takes place July 18 through August 11 and will feature match ups such as AC Milan vs. Chelsea FC in Miami on July 28 and Chelsea FC vs. Paris Saint-Germain on July 22 at Yankee Stadium as well.
