In their heyday, the members of Queen – Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor, and the incomparable Freddie Mercury – were a quartet of progressives in both sound and social mores. It should come as small surprise, then, to fans of the original Ga Ga stars (their song "Radio Ga Ga" inspired one Stefani Germanotta to permanently change her stage name), that the musical based off the band's discography is blazing new theatrical trails for its 10th anniversary.
Come 2013, We Will Rock You will tour the UK and Ireland in the only way befitting demi rock-gods: through a series of arena shows. While the musical has toured the region a number of times since its inception a decade ago, there's small precedence for a theater performance consistently playing – and filling – such large venues.
Whether or not the British troupe will buckle Under Pressure (sorry, had to) from venue owners to fill seats remains to be seen. As of now, the show co-written by British comedian Ben Elton is still, of course, scheduled to go on. See below for touring/venue info, and be sure to click back here in the upcoming months, when tickets for the 2013 shows will be available on the secondary ticket market:
