American Airlines Center Prepares for One Direction Invasion

The biggest boy band in the world is about to touch down where everything's bigger: the hats, the hair and the venues. One Direction will perform at Texas' large-and-in-charge entertainment arena, The American Airlines Center, next summer. Although the pairing of huge stars and huge seating capacity won't take place for another year, tickets are available now, and going fast!

Similar to another impressive Southern venue soon to be visited by the lads of One Direction, Florida's BankAtlantic Center, The American Airlines Center is home to a state sports team, The Dallas Mavericks. The venue also hosts Dallas Stars games, as well as music superstar performances: Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift have all graced the decade-old concert stage. The Simpsons helped cement the arena's pop cultural prominence during a season 20 episode, in which the featured "Dallas Arena" is meant to be a takeoff on the real-life site. Besides next year's boy-band Brit invasion, Madonna is scheduled to stop by The American Airlines Center this fall.
