The BMW championship is a Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Tour event. It is the third of four FedEx Cup playoff events on the PGA Tour schedule. The event's location rotates, but is primarily held at the Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, IL in 2011. The BMW Championship is held the weekend after Labor Day. It is open to the top 70 FedEx Cup points leaders after the Deutsche Bank Championship had been completed. The golfers who finish in the Top 30 in points after the BMW move on to The Tour Championship, which decides the FedEx points champ.
