About Bouncing Souls
This New Brunswick, New Jersey, band formed in 1987 brought back a pogo element to New Jersey punk rock by playing fast light-hearted songs. The Bouncing Souls got their name from Doc Marten shoes and to this day Doc Marten advertises the shoes as having bouncing souls. The band played homage to the 1980s while also taking a jab at homophobia in their songs Candy (popularized by the Strangeloves) and What Boys Like (originally by the Waitresses.) Their seventh record was released on June 6, 2006 (or 6/6/06) titled The Gold Record. Many fans considered this their sixth album because their first record was a collection of previous releases, hence the 666. Several of the bands songs have been featured on video games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Rock Band, and NHL 11. Get your hands on some Bouncing Souls Tickets.
