Chase & Status - They're Electric (Updated February 6, 2013)

Collaborations with some of the biggest names in music tend to make people sit up and take notice. It was no different for Chase & Status, an English Electronic music production duo consisting of Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status). Both met while attending university in Manchester, and after dropping out to pursue a music career in the mid nineties, they enthusiastically embraced DJing and other production work. It all led to the release of their own music, cementing the reputation of two of music's hottest young talents.

Even with steady work in the early going for other artists, Chase & Status still found time to release their debut album in the fall of 2008. It was packed with drum and bass anthems, but also showcased a diversity to their music with songs like "Pieces" and "Against All Odds." The project was hot on the club scene, and the duo found even greater success when one of the tracks, "Eastern Jam," was remixed with vocals from Snoop Dogg, culminating in the single, "Snoop Dogg Millionaire."

Looking ahead, Chase & Status signed a major record deal with Vertigo on Mercury Records and immediately started working on new material for their second album. "No More Idols" was released on January 28, 2011 and had been preceded by three singles which found success on the UK charts. Overall, the project was the seventeenth biggest-selling album of 2011 in the UK.

The duo are now working on their third album, due for release in 2013. They continue to collaborate with major artists such as Rihanna and Cee Lo Green, and have various gigs booked into March. Be sure to get your tickets to see this electric duo now!
