About Chevelle
Chevelle Tickets - Massive Power Rock in Chi-Town
When you want a little hard rock without the frills and none of the crazy hair glamour that usually came with it, you turned to the likes of Helmet, or Tool, or Sevendust -- all tremendous alternative metal bands. But then there was Chevelle! Founded in 1995 in the Windy City, this aggressive band was comprised of three brothers -- frontman and guitarist Pete, drummer Sam, and bass guitarist Joe Loeffler. In 2002, they managed to score a deal with Epic Records for their true, dynamic debut, and the rest is alternative rock history.

Wonder What's Next was the name of the album, going platinum in the following summer and sparked by only the second single 'Send the Pain Below.' Chevelle seemed to his a note with that one, giving the brothers enough oomph to head back to the studio in 2004 for the release of their second album This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In). Enter another hit single: 'Vitamin R (Leading Us Along).' Thankfully, the Windy City of Illinois had the pleasure for years after that of being entertained by this awesome alternative metal band, making the way for such bands as Fuel, Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, and Disturbed.

They had that angst that was pretty typical of alternative metal. The truth was, though, they defined it. it wasn't about an edgy, gritty sound, really. Take one listen to, say, Breaking Benjamin, and you'll know right away that the defining sound was something of a lyrical, melodical effect. That was Chevelle to a tee -- they were pleasing to listen to, but with all the hard rock elements that you love.
