Often referred to as Chitty the Musical, this stage musical based on the 1968 film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features music and lyricsby Richard and Robert Sherman with a book by Jeremy Sams.The Broadway production, which opened on April 28, 2005 at the Foxwoods Theatre was directed by Adrian Noble. The plot follows an eccentric professor who invents a revolutionary car, and the foreign government who resorts to skulduggery to obtain it. The production attracted an eclectic array of audiences and featured the talents of Raul Esparza (Caractacus Potts), Erin Dilly (Truly Scrumptious), Philip Bosco (Grandpa Potts), Marc Kudisch (Baron Bomburst), Jan Maxwell (Baroness Bomburst) and Henry Hodges (Jeremy Potts).
