She was born January 9, 1951, originally named Brenda Gail Webb in Paintsville, KY, and had a love for music as she learned to play guitar at a young age and performed some folk songs in high school. It was only when she earned her first label contract with Elektra/Warner that she became a household name.... But she first established herself as a passionate country singer!

Her single 'Wrong Road Again' made it into the Top Ten, but she kept going with yet another single in 1976 called 'I'll Get Over You.' She won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal for the jass-flavored pop-style ballad song 'Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.' We could go on and on with her accolades, but there wouldn't be enough space in cyberspace to count it all. In a nutshell, she was an immortal star of country music fire.
