Get Lost in Deap Valley (Created April 24, 2013)

Toting their own brand of rock all the way from the San Fernando Valley in California, Lindsey Troy (guitar, vocals) and Julie Edwards (drums) make up the duo Deap Vally. Together, they bonded over their love for music – specifically the blues – and have been hailed for the energy of their live shows from the very beginning.

It would be suspect of any musicians, but especially rockers, to admit that they met at a needlework class. But that's exactly how Lindsey and Julie describe their coming together, and they seemed to know they had a good thing going. Within a short time, the girls' live demos and videos began circulating online. Their debut single, "Gonna Make My Own Money," was released on July 30, 2012 and received thoroughly positive reactions from critics in the US and across the pond.

How good do you have to be to play some of the venues Deap Valley hit up in 2012? Good enough to not only command the attention of the audience, but leave them wanting more – and that's exactly what they did in their first London show at the Old Blue Last pub in early July. They later made their mark at music festivals such as Hyde Park with Iggy Pop and the Latitude Festival in Suffolk.

Deap Valley closed out 2012 with a performance in Japan, where they shared the stage with the likes of Thurston Moore and Dinosaur Jr. Their debut album will be released under Island Records / Communion later this year.
