4/10/13: Two-thousand-and-twelve was a good year for 26-year-old rapper Drake. After a massively successful global tour, as well as a slew of hits and awards, the rapper's career is seemingly unstoppable. So far in 2013 he's already released three new singles from his upcoming third album, "Nothing Was the Same," including "Started From the Bottom," the accompanying video for which features the rapper riding around the snow in a convertible and flying around in a private jet over Toronto. Standard fare for the multi-talented rapper, who not only pens tracks for artists like Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx, but is also credited with creating the now-famous acronym "YOLO." Besides his adventures in rapping, you can also catch Drake on the big screen. Last year marked the return to his acting roots when he voiced the character of Ethan in "Ice Age 4: Continental Drift," and he was also on the small screen for a brief appearance on MTV's Punk'd.

Imagine being just 20 years old, a relative unknown on the music scene and having the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne throwing their support behind you. That's the story of Toronto, Ontario native Drake (born Aubrey Drake Graham), who stepped away from an acting career in 2006 to pursue his passion for music full time.The rapper and singer, known for playing Jimmy Brooks on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation, opened eyes and ears within the music industry with the release of multiple mixtapes. The most successful was 'So Far Gone,' which would spawn an EP and open plenty of doors for the young Canadian. He signed a recording contract with Young Money Entertainment in 2009 and had a smash single out of the box with 'Best I Ever Had,' followed by the moderate hit 'Successful.' A first studio album, 'Thank Me Later,' bowed on June 15, 2010 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Two successful singles, 'Over' and 'Find Your Love,' would prove to be the precursor to a second studio project, 'Take Care,' on November 15, 2011. It topped the charts in the U.S. and Canada and produced the smash hits 'Headlines,' 'Take Care' and 'The Motto.' Drake's global tour, 'Club Paradise', has been the most successful hip-hop tour of 2012, grossing over $42 million worldwide inside of two months. It opened on Monday, May 7 at the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord, California and wrapped the North American leg on June 20 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Drake also played the Openair Frauenfeld in Switzerland and the Wireless Festival in London, England on July 7.
