Based on the novel by Ingvar Ambjorenson, Elling is a comedy about two patients, Elling and Kjell, who live together after being released from a mental health facility. As these opposites try to figure out the trials and triumphs of love, friendship, pizza, poetry and women in the real world, they form a unique bond that surprises them both. Adapted by Simon Bent, the original Broadway production starred Brendan Fraser and was directed by Doug Hughes. The set was designed by Scott Pask with lights by Kenneth Posner. Original music was scored and designed by David Van Tiegham while costumes were designed by Catherine Zuber.
