Extreme Tickets - Taking It to the Music Extreme
The '80s and '90s of music was an interesting time -- especially for one particular rock band called Extreme. Beginning in 1985, this band from Massachusetts featuring guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bass guitarist Pat Badger, singer Gary Cherone, and drummer Paul Geary took the music charts by storm as the enigmatic rock group Extreme, landing themselves a contract and a career to stardom.
Extreme Tickets - The Music of Extreme
Their debut album was self-titled, issued out in 1989, and it featured a single called 'Play with Me' that was plugged into the soundtrack for the film 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'! Good movie. And good for Extreme, because that earned them respect in the heavy metal world and spawned the second album Pornograffitti and the remarkably beautiful and sweet-sounding rock ballad 'More Than Words.' The second single 'Hole Hearted' didn't do as well but held its own enough to keep Extreme on top while the third album III Sides to Every Store was in the works.

It was when rock ballads became so prominent that Extreme truly soared. The beautiful voices, the poetic lyrics, the played-down instrumentals. That was what Extreme was all about. And they owned their era quite well.
