However, they really turned the tables on the music industry with their self-titled full-length debut that same year in the summer with a well-deserved platinum certification. Not too shabby. They had a truly unique sound -- no one could pinpoint it except to say that the earthy sound with a rich harmony embedded deep within certainly paid homage to the likes of '60s artists Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Zombies, and even the Beach Boys. A way to describe it is 'baroque pop' meets 'classic rock' meets 'British folk.' A beautiful mix, really. You can expect the Fleet Foxes to be fleet of foot in their trek through the music industry with more phenomenal pieces to write, earning them more and more of a fan base, as they are definitely a young band. But a young band with true promise. There's still plenty of time to see if they might earn themselves a major record deal. And if they do, you can bet their stardom would soar even higher than it already is.
