About Great White tickets

Amid all the hard rock and glam bands of the 1980s, with their teased hair, their outlandish, large-shouldered and high-heeled costumes and their gaudy makeup, one band rose above the others. That's because Great White offered up more than tweaked amps and distorted guitars. Sure, they grew their hair long like the others, but Great White has always delivered a soulful, bluesy, hard-driving sound that remained colorful and musical while it definitely rocked. The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1978, with tireless singer Jack Russell, guitarist Mark Kendall, bassist Lorne Black and drummer Gary Holland. They released their self-titled debut album in 1984, already with a strong reputation for giving hot live shows, packed with straight-forward rock. Their first two albums performed well on the market, enough to support a tour of Europe. But Great White hit the big time in 1987 with the release of their third album Once Bitten?, anchored by the hit single 'Rock Me.' They followed that album in 1989 with the release of the logically titled ?Twice Shy, featuring their biggest hit singles, 'Once Bitten, Twice Shy,' 'The Angle Song' and 'House of Broken Love.' Now Great White was at the top of their game, headlining major venues. As other hard rock acts waned in the 1990s, Great White continued, touring Japan, releasing the albums Hooked and Psycho City and holding their fan base. They survived a break-up in the early 2000s and have recorded five more albums, including 2009's Rising. Through it all, their fans have remained loyal, and Great White tickets are a chance to see one hard rock act that stands out above the rest.
