About Guns 4 Roses
Guns N' Roses still road warriors (Updated January 16, 2013)
The year 1993 proved to be a turning point for Guns N' Roses, as the cover album, "That Spaghetti Incident?" was the last before more than a decade of turbulence and lineup changes nearly dissolved the band.
Guns N'Roses released the long-awaited album "Chinese Democracy" in 2008. At an estimated $14 million in production costs, it is the most expensive album to ever be produced in music history. While the album received rave reviews and had positive critical response, the record underperformed expectations when it bowed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. A worldwide tour followed, and Guns N' Roses has been on and off the road ever since.
Guns N'Roses were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14, 2012. Though Axl Rose refused to attend the event, all former members of the band were reunited at the event. They performed "Mr. Brownstone," "Sweet Child o' Mine" and the smash "Paradise City."
Axl Rose and the current lineup are set to play five upcoming shows in Perth, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Brisbane. They will be the first shows Rose has played in Australia since 2010, when the band headlined the V8 Supercar Championship in Sydney and stopped by Townsville and Adelaide for shows with Korn.
Guns N' Roses were recently named 2012 Tour of the Year in the Ultimate Classic Rock Awards.
Guns N' Roses Tickets** - Firing on All Barrels of Rock 'n' Roll
During an age when pop-metal was so prominent and dance music dominated, a band came out in 1985 to throw a wrench into the industry like you wouldn't believe. It was a nasty, ugly, gritty, and gut-wrenching wrench. It was the band called 'Guns N' Roses'! The fact was this: this was a band that really didn't pull any punches as far as their music was concerned. The reason why? Two words: Axl Rose. He was the frontman. Another reason? One more word: Slash. Probably the best lead guitarist to epitomize the essence of rock 'n' roll. The rest in the lineup helped shape that awesome hard rock image that was the band by the names of guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bass guitarist Duff KcKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. When they came out with their very own EP in 1986, they landed a contract with Geffen Records, and the rest was all rock 'n' roll history.
Guns N' Roses Tickets - The Music of the Guns
Theit debut album was the hard-hitting "Appetite for Destruction", released in 1987, featuring the singles "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Welcome to the Jungle," and "Paradise City." In no time, Guns N' Roses attacked the charts with their metal riffs and jagged vocals all the way to the top, but also proved that they could have major talent and versatility when they worked on the proper follow-up in 1991. That was a two-disc set called "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II", and it wowed audiences and listeners with the additions of Elton John-style piano and orchestra sounds from the track
"November Rain" and a Beatles cover track with some good ol' fashioned garage rock with "Yesterday." It proved that the band could really break out of the savage heavy metal style that they were so known for in "Appetite for Destruction."
Guns N' Roses Tickets - The Sound and Style of the Roses
Instantly, when you hear Axl Rose's voice and see the hard look on his face with his physique parading around the stage, you know you've got a hard rock performance that's worth your money. Additionally, listening to the guitar solos of Slash are unprecedented as well as the style and look of the top hat and leather quintessentially embodied everything that is rock 'n' roll. There's so much behind Guns N' Roses -- in a big way -- and they will forever be a tremendous rock outfit to be remembered for decades.
