Jeremy Camp was born in Lafayette, Indiana. He began his music career by leading worship at churches local to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Southern California. In 2001, he released his first album Burden Me, although it was not until Stay(2002) that he began charting on U.S. Christian charts. In early 2004, he debuted Carried Me: The Worship Project, which was a significant hit on Christian radio and helped him gain popularity. It prepared the way for his late 2004 album Restored, which was a major accomplishment, peaking at number 1 on Christian charts and number 45 in the U.S. overall. From there, Camp began to enjoy widespread success, winning multiple awards including the Twenty-Eighth Annual ASCAP Music Awards' Songwriter of the Year and a Grammy nomination for Speaking Louder Than Before. He is also in high demand for popular festivals like Spirit West Coast, and as of 2011, four of his albums have been certified gold. Other evidence of Camp's success can be found in the multiple soundtrack compilations he has appeared on, including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Music Inspired By the Motion Picture Amazing Grace and Bridge to Terabithia.
