Harlem-based rapper Jim Jones wears many hats. He is an original member of hip hop group The Diplomats, the founder of the Diplomat label, a businessman and true behind-the-scenes figure in the industry. Under the name CAPO, he has also become an established video director for other music stars.

Jones released his first album, "On My Way to Church," back in 2004. It was followed by the sophomore effort "Harlem: Diary of a Summer" in 2005. The latter reached number five on the Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Independent Albums charts. The single "What You Been Drankin' On" featured Diddy (Sean Combs), and was just one of the many guest appearances on Jones' projects by music superstars.

The 2006 album "Hustler's P.O.M.E. (Product of My Environment) spawned the single "We Fly High." The track made it to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, raced to the top of the Hot Rap Tracks chart, and was used the New York Giants football team. Still, Jones also used the next two years to release a collaborative album with his rap group ByrdGang. By the time he got back in the studio, it was to push out work that had the backing of artists like Lil Wayne and Wyclef Jean.

The album "Capo," is Jones' most recent work , though it has been overshadowed by his tension and dust-ups with other artists like Tru-Life and Jay-Z. Things apparently came to a head when Jones and a Jay-Z associate were involved in an altercation at a store on Manhattan's fifth Avenue, though different reports say the 'feuds' are merely designed to increase tension among the artists.
