French duo likes to D.A.N.C.E. (Updated January 2, 2013)

The rise of popular electronic music has yielded a crop of talented artists around the globe. Among them is Justice, a duo from Paris, France formed in 2003 consisting of Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay. They are known for their remix of Simian's 'Never Be Alone," later renamed "We Are Your Friends," as well as their "Waters of Nazareth" EP and the single "D.A.N.C.E."

Known for incorporating rock and indie influence into both their music and image, the duo's debut album is entitled "†" but is often spelled out "Cross". It bowed to critical acclaim in June 2007 and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The success came after years of original releases and remixes, including "Never Be Alone," created for a college radio station contest. It resulted in a deal with Ed Banger records, and Justice later went to work on remixes for well-known mainstream acts like Britney Spears and Fatboy Slim.

A sophomore album, "Audio, Video, Disco," dropped October 24, 2011. It contained 11 songs and showcased the duo's progression into a sound that was more rock and less electronic.

After headlining at the Coachella Valley Music Festival and Chicago's Lollapalooza earlier in 2012, Justice returned to the U.S. in October in support of their latest project. The front leg of the tour kicked off in New York City at the famed Hammerstein Ballroom, and extends into 2013. Their first official concert date of the New Year is January 4-7 as part of the Holy Ship! Festival.
