Musgraves riding music's Merry Go Round (Created May 29, 2013)

Life has certainly been a "Merry Go Round" (pardon the pun) for young Kacey Musgraves, whose debut single bowed to massive critical acclaim back on September 10, 2012.

Indeed, the ride hasn't stopped spinning for the Universal Music Group Nashville singer/songwriter, who was hailed by the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone magazines as "Merry Go Round" climbed into the Top 10 of the U.S. Country Airplay charts. And by the time the full album ("Same Trailer, Different Park") bowed in the spring of 2013 (co-produced by Kacey, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird), this Texas native had set tongues wagging as the next big thing in country music.

It's hard to believe, really, that Musgraves is just in her mid-20's. But when you realize she began singing publicly at 8-years-old and wrote her first song just a year later, the maturity that comes through puts her in a class far above other musicians her age. And thus far, she has produced cuts for multi-platinum artists such as Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert. (Lambert's current album includes Kacey's co-written track "Mama's Broken Heart," which peaked at #2 on the U.S. Country and Radio Airplay Charts).

With musical influences ranging from Loretta Lynn to The Beach Boys, Musgraves has also had the chance top open for the likes of country icon Willie Nelson, Lady Antebellum and Alison Kraus. She was a featured special guest on Little Big Town's The Tornado Tour, which launched, January 31, 2013, and is opening on Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Nation tour for the spring/summer.
