About Kansas City Royals
5/3/12: The Royals suffered through an excrutiating 12 game losing streak, including being swept by Cleveland, Toronto, and Detroit before finally winning three in a row. The slide left the team at 6-16. Because the AL Central lacks the depth of other divisions. The Royals are only 5.5 games behind the first place where the Indians, White Sox, and Tigers are all tied, and even a half-game ahead of the Minnesota Twins. The Royals have three players hitting over .300: 1B Billy Ray Butler with 5 homers and a .315 average, Mike "Moose" Moustakas at .312 and seven doubles, and Chris Getz at .308.
4/24/12: Several so-called 'experts' picked KC as their dark-horse team this season. Thus far, those 'experts' look like rank-amatures. The Royals are mired in an 11-game losing streak, finishing 0-10 on their homestand. The team has a league-low 3 wins and is already 7 games behind AL Central leaders Detroit and Chicago (White Sox). Bright spots include Yuni Betancourt who is batting .324 and Alcides Escobar, who is hitting .310 with five doubles aleady. The Royals now hit the road for a 9-game trip with series at Cleveland, Minnesota, and Detroit before coming home to face the New York Yankees.
4/17/12: The Royals, long considered a farm system for the rest of the league (see: Johnny Damon, Carlos Beltran, and Zach Grienke among others) are already in mid-season form. That is to say they have a .273 winning percentage and are in a six-game losing streak. After taking two of three from Anaheim, the Royals lost 7 of 8 and are averaged less than four runs per game in that span. Attendance is also a problem. The club drew 41,000 fans for or opening day, but has averaged about 17,500 since. The good news out of KC? The NFL draft is next week.
Kansas City Royals Tickets - Team History
Kansas City Royals tickets allow fans the opportunity to experience one of Major League Baseball's teams on the rise. The Royals enjoyed much success during the early 1980's, emerging the decade with a pair of AL Pennant victories and would go on to win the Major League Baseball World Series in 1985. The club plays at Kauffman Stadium, a ballpark that carries the distinction of being the 6th oldest stadium in Major League Baseball. Although the Royals have struggled of late, the club is making strides towards becoming a perennial divisional contender down the road.
Kansas City Royals Tickets - Season Info
The Kansas City Royals look to emerge from the 2010 season with a positive focus. Notable accomplishments stemming from last year include having Kauffman Stadium selected as the host of the 2012 MLB All-Star game and having closer Joakim Soria represent the Royals in the All-Star game in Anaheim. Soria made his second All-Star appearance and finished the season with 43 saves in 46 opportunities. Patience may be the key to winning in Kansas. Fans can see a major indicator of future success as the Royals had more prospects named pitchers and players of the week throughout the minor leagues than any other MLB club in baseball.
